Support UNICEF's Response in the State of Palestine

, UNICEF USA

Over 3.3 million people, including 1.7 million children have continued to suffer in the midst of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. On August 22, 2025, famine was declared by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC). Over 500,000 people, one in four residents of Gaza, are facing famine. All 320,000 children under five are at risk of acute malnutrition, increasing their vulnerability to childhood illnesses and potential long-term physical and mental health.

In July, Gaza witnessed a catastrophic deterioration in child wellbeing, marking the worst month for child malnutrition since October 2023. More than 13,000 children were admitted for treatment of acute malnutrition in July, with over 7,200 additional admissions in the first two weeks of August.

In July and August, UNICEF delivered 340 trucks of critical nutrition, health, and WASH supplies, including vaccines to ensure all key antigens are available. Alongside this, UNICEF has activated a multi-sectoral famine response plan focused on nutrition, health, WASH, and social protection.

UNICEF is committed to continuing to provide the humanitarian support children and their families depend on for survival and protection.

In 2025, UNICEF:
-Delivered 2,271 cartons of therapeutic food (treating 3,000+ children) and 1,400 packs of complementary foods for infants and young children
-Provided safe water to 1.5 million people, including 600,000 children
-Vaccinated 26,893 children with all targeted antigens
-Supported 38,689 people with cash transfers, including 20,381 children
-Distributed 16,000 packs of diapers to (NICUs), hospitals, and PHCs, with a further 20,000 planned for distribution
-Identified 40 temporary learning spaces for 36,000 children to resume education

With your support, UNICEF can continue to deliver critical support to children and families in the State of Palestine.
