Alternative Angels: Supporting Swindon’s Homeless and Vulnerable

At Alternative Angels, we’re a community-driven charity with a clear mission: to provide hot meals, support, and a sense of belonging to those in need in Swindon. Our goal isn’t just to feed people – it’s to help them rebuild their lives and create a brighter future.

Why We’re Here

Since 2016, we’ve grown from feeding 15 people in the Wyvern car park to now serving over 900 individuals each month. What began as a small, compassionate effort has expanded into a vital service for Swindon’s homeless and vulnerable. In 2022, we found a permanent home at the Pilgrim Centre, and now, every week, we open our doors to around 200 people.

Many of those we support are facing tough challenges – homelessness, addiction, or the aftermath of abusive relationships. Our goal is to provide more than just food; we offer a safe, welcoming space where people can receive the practical support they need to get back on their feet.

Why Your Support Matters

The rising cost of living and the increasing demand for our services mean that we need your help more than ever. We’re also investing in long-term solutions, such as skills development, rehabilitation programmes, and other support that helps people gain independence and a sense of purpose. Our mission is to reduce the number of people living on the streets and help them create better futures for themselves and their families.
