To significantly increase its ability and speed in delivering support to people affected by disasters, the Z Zurich Foundation launched a 'Crisis Response and Recovery Fund' in 2024 as part of its Responding to Crisis pillar.
With an initial multi-million-dollar investment from the Z Zurich Foundation, the Crisis Response and Recovery Fund enables the scaling of humanitarian responses and provides assistance to a greater number of individuals affected by catastrophes globally. This Fund helps facilitate the rapid allocation of resources to support the efforts of humanitarian organizations on the ground.
Over the last few years, the Z Zurich Foundation has accumulated robust expertise in humanitarian crisis response management and established strong relationships with NGOs based on their ability to provide relief efforts to different crises worldwide.
Zurich employees are encouraged to contribute to the Crisis Response and Recovery Fund if they can and wish to. The Z Zurich Foundation will match their donations, doubling the impact of their generosity. Employees can collectively support future crisis response efforts without delay by contributing to this Fund on the occasion of specific disasters. These donations ensure that resources are readily available for immediate assistance when a crisis occurs and, in some cases, even before it does. This approach eliminates the need to wait for funds to be raised, allowing the Z Zurich Foundation to promptly allocate financial resources to enable humanitarian organizations to provide critical aid and relief as quickly and effectively as possible.
The Z Zurich Foundation will inform Zurich employees through internal communication channels whenever the Fund is activated.
