Plan India’s Accelerated Learning Centres (Balika Shivir) bring education closer to rural villages in the States of Rajasthan and Jharkhand, making it easier for girls who dropped out of school to reconnect to and complete school.
Nevertheless, for many girls, the physical distance to the next Balika Shivir is still too far to walk, which can be a significant barrier: the journey with one or more buses can be expensive or even unsafe. Many girls have expressed that having a bicycle would help them continue attending the Learning Centre.
As we come together for an entertaining day full of cycling at the Zurich Bike Classic 2024, we would like to use this opportunity to support this wonderful project where bikes can change the course of life for many young girls in India. All donations made will be matched by our Z Zurich Foundation, meaning your donation will have a double-fold impact. We want to emphasize that all contributions are voluntary and will remain anonymous – you are not required to donate to participate in the Zurich Bike Classic 2024.
